David is a Consultant Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon, practising at the world renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore, 25 Harley Street and One Hatfield. His practice involves all aspects of shoulder and elbow surgery, from minor injuries to complex reconstructive procedures. He strongly believes in shared decision making and a patient centred approach to treatment. He is a meticulous surgeon using up to date and evidenced based techniques to treat every patient’s individual needs.
Shoulder reconstruction: primary, complex primary and revision shoulder replacement; the management of infected shoulder replacements.
Soft tissue shoulder and elbow surgery: Arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery; rotator cuff repair; instability surgery; tendon surgery; management of frozen shoulder and elbow stiffness; tennis and golfers elbow surgery
Elbow reconstruction: primary, complex primary and revision elbow replacement; the management of infected elbow replacements.
Consultant in the Shoulder and Elbow unit at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore – a world renowned orthopaedic centre.
Manages all aspects of shoulder and elbow including instability, sports injuries, joint reconstruction and replacement.
Specialist practice which includes complex problems and revision surgery.
David qualified from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ London Medical School achieving a BSc in Neuroscience alongside his MBBS medical qualification.
During his Orthopaedic Training he also completed an MSc in Orthopaedic Science at the University of Brighton.
He has undertaken two specialist fellowships at Guy’s Hospital London and at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore, with special emphasis on complex shoulder and elbow reconstruction.
He was awarded the prestigious Watanabe Travelling Fellowship in 2017 and used this opportunity to visit Specialists in arthroscopic shoulder surgery.
David has wide ranging research interests including an emphasis on the results of surgical intervention and leads the collection of patient reported outcome measures (PROMs). He has completed a MSc in orthopaedic science, presented at international scientific meetings and published in the orthopaedic research literature as well as being the author of textbook chapters related to shoulder and elbow surgery.
